BEREAVEMENT COMMITTEE — SEEKING VOLUNTEERS

The bereavement committee, with Darlene Simpson, Carol Cranford, and Alice Jones serving as chairs, prepares meals for Grace family members when they have lost a loved one.

Meals are sometimes served prior to funerals, sometimes afterwards, and sometimes families take them home. Meals are sometimes are complete with meats/vegetables/salads/desserts and sometimes families prefer “finger foods” in a reception – type atmosphere.

The church usually provides fried chicken, with side items/beverages/desserts provided by bereavement committee volunteers. Set – up for meals, serving, and clean – up are also provided by volunteers.

Sadly, this is a necessary committee for Grace, but we are usually blessed by not having too much work during the year. If you would like to have your name added to this committee, please send an e – mail to Carol Cranford or contact the church office.

Seeds of Hope liaison needed

First of all THANK YOU, to Darrell Sweeney for years of service with Seeds of Hope Outreach!

With Darrell retiring, I am in need of finding a replacement to be the liaison between Grace and Oscar Stevens (our Seeds of Hope farmer). This is roughly a 2 1/2 month commitment, from the first Saturday in June to the middle of August.

Please contact Marlin McPhail 803-730-8355 mmcphail24@gmail.com if you have any interest in the ministry.
