PRAYER

O Great One who dwells in the Sky World illuminating all that is, giving Good Medicine of life and the Great Creation, our Mother Earth, knowing that all things are as they should be, we give thanks for the beauty of all things, O Great One, we give thanks.  (A Cherokee Prayer)

*HYMN OF LIGHT         “For the Beauty of the Earth”        #92, UMH

1.   For the beauty of the earth, for the glory of the skies, for the love which from our birth over and around us lies; Lord of all, to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

2.   For the beauty of each hour of the day and of the night, hill and vale, and tree and flower, sun and moon, and stars of light; Lord of all to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

3.   For the joy of ear and eye, for the heart and mind’s delight, for the mystic harmony linking sense to sound and sight; Lord of all, to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

4.   For the joy of human love, brother, sister, parent, child, friends on earth and friends above, for all gentle thoughts and mild; Lord of all, to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

5.   For thy church, that evermore lifteth holy hands above, offering up on every shore her pure sacrifice of love; Lord of all, to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

6.   For thyself, best Gift Divine, to the world so freely given, for that great, great love of thine, peace on earth, and joy in heaven: Lord of all, to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.

*CENTERING IN GOD’S WORD                                                Psalm 8

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

How majestic is your name in all the earth!

Sung Response:

Your glory is chanted above the heavens by the mouth of babes and infants: you have set up a defense against your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger.

How majestic is your name in all the earth!

Sung Response:

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars which you have established, what are human beings that you are mindful of them, and mortals that you care for them:  Yet you have made them little less than God, and crowned them with glory and honor.

How majestic is your name in all the earth!

Sung Response:

You have given them dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under their feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.  O Lord, our Lord,

How majestic is your name in all the earth!

Sung Response:

THE MESSAGE

RECEIVING NEW MEMBERS                #47, UMH (bottom of page)

We welcome today: Doris Bailey, Rose Graves, Jayne and David Varnes!

WE GO OUT INTO THE WORLD

* OUR MISSION AT GRACE IS:

To know Jesus and to make him known to others.

*BENEDICTION:

We pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give us a spirit of wisdom and revelation as we come to know him, so that, with the eyes of our hearts enlightened, we may know what is the hope to which God has called us, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance among the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power for us who believe, according to the working of his great power.

*CHORAL RESPONSE   “Be Present at Our Table, Lord”    #621, UMH

Be present at our table, Lord; be here and everywhere adored;

thy creatures bless, and grant that we may feast in paradise with thee.
